Our Ministries

Our hope is that everyone at Hunter Hills would find meaningful connections. In order for that to happen, we hope you will get involved in various ministries to not only meet and connect with other people, but to find a place to serve others.

  • Adult Spiritual Formation

As a part of our formation into the image and likeness of Christ, we want to have great adult Bible classes and studies that engage our minds as well as our hearts. If God has placed it upon your heart to lead these studies and gifted you with the gift of teaching, we would love to have you participate. There are options for Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, and various other times, and we will only ask you to serve one term a year (one term can be anywhere from 4 weeks and up to 10 weeks).

  • Children’s Ministry

Our ministry with children is one of the most important things we do here. We want to partner with parents in sharing the love of Christ with our children. Not only will you be a blessing to these children, they will be a blessing to you. Each volunteer is security background checked, and we give you all of the tools and information you need to be an excellent volunteer. We need greeters, teachers, helpers, and many other positions. We would love to have you be a part of this exciting ministry with us!

  • Youth Ministry

Teens today need spiritually solid adult role models to walk with them through this very exciting yet volatile time in their lives. From leading small groups, teaching classes and chaperoning trips to preparing food and providing transportation, there are many opportunities to serve in this ministry. If you feel like you are blessed with a gift for impacting teens, come join us and make a difference in the life of a young person.

Ministry Leader: Steven Evans - steven@hunterhills.org

  • Gifted Ministry

Gifted seeks to equip and disciple children, students, and adults with disabilities into the life and community of Hunter Hills Church. We believe God has given each of us unique abilities and talents for His glory and our good. As a ministry team, we strive to empower individuals with disabilities to know and love Jesus and others with their unique abilities.

    Ministry Leader:  Dean Farris

  • Prison Ministry

For the past few years, the members at Hunter Hills have been involved in local prison ministries.  Currently we conduct worship services and Bible studies at the state women’s prison (Tutwiler Prison), and at Staten Men’s prison.  We have also continued some support of a fatherhood class at Staten.  Involvement at state or federal prisons requires a background check and a training event that requires significant lead time.  Jesus said, “I was in prison, and you visited me....”

Ministry Leader (Men’s Prison):  Carl Carpenter
Ministry Leader (Women’s Prison): Anna Miller

  • Missions

The Hunter Hills Mission begins not only at the end of the church driveway, but literally before you leave our property. Hunter Hills family members of all ages are active partners in responding to needs right here in our community, as well as in neighboring communities and countries.  Members find ministry opportunities in a variety of local areas including the Pregnancy Crisis Center; AGAPE, and AICC and Hope House Montgomery.  Our foreign support embraces Honduras and Pakistan. Whatever your interest, talent, or age--and whether you choose to go or to provide support from here -- there is a place for you.

  • Audio Visual (A/V) Team

If you have an interest in A/V and are willing and able to learn, then you are needed on our team.  Ministry areas include operating lights, recording our worship services, as well as running the presentations each week. We would also welcome those with computer skills to help put together the slideshow for Sunday worship on a rotational basis.

    Ministry Leader: Don Carter

  • Communion

    (Preparation)
Volunteers prepare the Sunday communion on a monthly basis (including clean up and setup).  We generally have two volunteers for each month.

    Ministry Leader: Teresa Stacy

    (Servers)
Communion servers are asked to help pass out communion trays during our worship on Sunday mornings.

    Ministry Leader: Mark Skelton

  • Hospitality Team

Each Sunday we have the opportunity to extend the welcome and hospitality of Christ to both members and guests of Hunter Hills. If you love people and making them feel welcomed, we would love for you to be a part of this ministry. This teams welcomes people at our doors and makes sure that our guests are not only greeted, but know where to go and what to do when they arrive. We have a rotation of volunteers who will serve as greeters before class and before worship service. This is a wonderful opportunity for men and women, adults and teens, or something you can do together as a family.

    Ministry Leader: Keith Cantrell

  • Media and Technology Ministry

Do you like technology?  Websites?  Photography?  Graphic Design?  So do we!  This ministry is responsible for our website and various other online media outlets, online church directories, printed brochures and handouts, church-wide technology systems such as sound and video delivery, wireless internet access, and more.  Does any of this sound interesting to you?  Do you have a gift for this type of service?  Let us know!

    Ministry Leader: Brandon Maddox

  • The Well

If you brew it, they will come.  We encourage you to come early before service to enjoy some coffee, music, and community.  The Well is our on-site coffee shop and its purpose is to help provide a time of fellowship on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evening around everyone’s favorite drink, coffee!  Do you like coffee?  Like serving others?  If you’re interest in helping, let us know!

    Ministry Leader: Bryan Maddox

  • Praise Team

Have the gift and love of singing? We would love for you to try out to be a part of our Sunday praise teams. We have opportunities for singers to help lead the congregation in authentic worship to our Lord and Savior.

    Ministry Leader: Corey Cantrell

  • Recreation

Love softball, volleyball, bowling, and other sporting activities? Then we would love for you to join one of our teams! The sports included are usually Co-Ed Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Softball, and possibly Co-Ed Softball.  We need volunteers to be coaches or leaders for each sport, as well as players.  If you or your company would like to sponsor a team, please let us know.

    Ministry Leader: David Hardy

  • Showers

This is a team of people who help to plan and coordinate baby showers, wedding showers, or any other similar events. If you like making treats, decorating, and the like, we would love for you to serve on this team.

    Ministry Leader: Kelsey Manley

  • Building Maintenance

Building and grounds volunteers are needed in a number of areas:  painting, cleaning projects, minor plumbing and electrical repairs, landscaping, etc.  Work hours are flexible to fit your schedule. A work day will be scheduled when a project arises, and you will be contacted with an assignment.

Ministry Leaders:  Thaylon Maddox and Gary French

  • Security Team

The safety and security of our members, especially our children, is deeply important to us. Because of that, we want a team of volunteers to help serve as ushers and guides in the event of a security situation during one of our services. If this sounds like something that might interest you, we would love for you to join one of our teams.

    Ministry Leader: Tom Carr
